June Baby

Its the last day of June! So there is no more excuses for me to keep procrastinating it again and again. Have to get this post done before the day end! (Yes.. i've started it on 30th June and post it on today)

So as you can judge from the title, its about Birthday Celebration!! Yay!! Surprisingly, friends of mine that has the birthday on June was a lot more than i expected! And.. this is one of the reason Melbourne Day 2 post is still on processing. Excuses.. i know!!

Back to the topic, 20th June was my super best friend Justine's birthday! Because we are getting really close lately, so i was thinking to do something special on this special day! Well.. what happened was a random night before 20th her boyfriend text us (foundation friends) and ask if we can meet up for lunch in a cafe. I am like.. what?? No!! 20 is a new the first year of getting number "2" in front of your years old so we have to do something special!

Hence, i suggest that we do picnic in our university mines campus! It sounds pretty crazy, insane, brainless, weird i know but i am super glad that things turn out well.. and it was not that awkward as we thought.=)

Food and stuff were prepared by KS Lee (Jus's bf), XiaoQian, and of course me. Ks made nuggets and hot dogs, xq made fried chicken chop, fried mee hon, i made her sandwiches in two flavor Tuna and Eggs, fruits stick, significant red eggs, and tortilla corn chips. 

Because she is a super big pink, my melody and hello kitty fans, So i get her a hello kitty picnic cloth (#notsurehowitsupposetobecalled) to make everything looks more fancy! Also, i add a little lemon pieces on the pink cup that match with the theme and some lace looks like paper on plate as a decorations.

TaDaaaaa~~ the Birthday Girl!!

In the picture above, she is holding a Hello Kitty customized cake which is also from me as a surprise for her! Me and Ks ordered the cake at Taman Desa. I've forgotten whats the name of the cake shop but its   located right besides RT pastry cake shop. We've search for a few before this and reason we choose this is the price is more affordable and it offers what we wants! 

Super in love with the result! Details of the cake was so pretty and it turn out way more beautiful than we've expected. Tips: you can ask them to change the color of the base like i do. Originally it wasn't baby pink but i just thought it will looks nicer with this as well as the cream around the cake, i asked them to change to the other pattern and color as well. 

I went and bought all the food that needed at evening a day before then made all them at night. And i have a super early class tomorrow plus i have to pick Ks up first. So it was actually pretty tired but when i see everyone is there and everyone is so happy i felt everything is worth. Because Justine is really surprise and blessed! 

One thing thats really funny was i pick up Ks at his place so that the foods can put in my car first, then i drop him at train station for Justine to pick him up as how they normally do it.. So when i reach uni right, i have to go to cafeteria to put the cake in the fridge first before i go into class. Then, at that time when they just arrived at car park as well. I park slightly further so that Justine won't check out all the foods. But when i walk closer to them and said hi... our emotion change..

We actually bought the shirt together but we never expect this gonna happened and its in her birthday! Haha.. Then, we don't dare to walk in to class together so she stay outside for about 30 mins i guess.. No one really notice it until we sit together after a short break. And that made my friends laugh non-stop! But... it wasnt that bad actually.. Its like back to those really young age where your parents tend to dress you up similarly with your sis or cousin. 

I made her some red eggs as well! Its my first time doing this and its her first time eating this! For Chinese, eating red egg in birthday actually represent something good but i not really sure whats that. But i just made this because i scare the food its not enough but anyway her mum said i am so old school!! T.T.. 

The cake again! Tips: You can choose the flavor you like, but price will be vary. I've choose "Sweden Chocolate" for her because she is super picky on food and i think this sounds the best for her. Ks ordered another one which is My Melody cake for her as well in Black Forest for night celebration but according to Jus it wasn't taste that nice. So i definitely recommend this! 

 The cute Xiao Qian! Luckily she just finish her final so she can make it to this small party! We miss her so much ever since she transfer to sunway! Absolutely amazing to have her back in this special day!

Lastly, Us! I am really amazed by the friendship of us because i wasn't expect we can still stay so close thou we are all in different courses and university. We all have different class schedule and things to take care of. Also, they are both in relationship so i really thought as the time we spend together become lesser and lesser we gonna be further apart as time pass. But things work completely different than what i thought. We are super close, we still share everything through line and most importantly we really be there for each other whenever we need people to talk to. It sounds really cheesy but.. Yea.. Hopefully we still stay like this in the future okay!! Love you guys! 

So now its my turn. Well, i did mention to my friends earlier that i wasn't in a mood to celebrate due to.. something.. Also, i tell Jus already do not need to do anything to repay me stuff like that. So i didn't really plan or expect anything for myself.

But a day before my birthday which is 24th, Justine play a trick to me saying that Ks is going to meet up his brother gang at some place which just right opposite house but she don't want to join them and she'll come my place instead. And i said... YES!

She is always afraid of taking lift alone and she called and said that she's lost in some where. I went down and pick her up then she sort of hold off the time a little then XQ, her bf Zhi Xiang and Ks shown up! I already knew that something is gonna happened when she dragging the time but i wasn't expect XQ will be here! Because she went and post at our group chat said she is jealous that Jus can meet me at night stuff like that.. It was really unexpected! 

And.. i didn't know Jus is plan this until she dragging the time. I am just finished shower and go down with naked face and slightly wet hair with spec with home cloths.. Hahaa.. Super natural look i would said.. 

Almost forget to mention this, we actually met up at the morning for the 3rd times of HPV injections!! "mission complete!!" Then i was thinking of spending more time with them since we meeting up and we usually do that as well. Right before that they throw me home, they bought me a slice of  Padi House Oreo Cheese Cake like a little pre-celebration at car. It was unexpected as well because Jus just keep saying she is craving for that ever since we got in to her car. I wasn't think of anything more.. Hahaa.. 

Purpose of they doing is actually to make me feel sad. But they sort of fail on this cause i am very happy with them! Who cares the size of the cake?? Hahaa.. After they drop me off, they claimed that they have own stuff to do, repair car and what not but actually they went to bought ingredient that needed for sushi and made it for me at night. Of course pick up the customized piano cake as well. Quite touched because both of them doesn't cook often and XQ even told me its Jus first time fried egg or something. Haha.. Thank youboth of you so much! It taste delicious! Dont worry! Hahaaa.. 

Back to the night celebration, purpose of them came all the way from puchong is to accompany me pass 1200 so that i won't feel vain?? Haha.. Just kidding.. They just being here to pass through the time where i probably gonna be really sad.. So thank god they are here!

They expect me to cry but sadly it didn't happened. However, Justine success at the end of the day when i get back to home because she made me one album with lots of pic of us and send me an e-mail with instruction on it. Basically how it work is, I have to go to a Youtube link to open up a song called "Kiss the rain" by Yiruma. One of my favorite pianist from Korea btw. Then each and every photo she wrote something like a little story. Thats so... touch..

The cake that they customized for me!! Its from the same shop i order for Jus as well. But this is in Mocha flavor. Taste not bad as well but i still recommend "Sweden Chocolate" for those who prefer chocolate more.

As for the exact day which is 25th of June, i tried to ask Jus and XQ to meet up thou i mentioned i am not in a mood of celebrating it but.. when it comes to that day i don't felt like being alone. Anyway, Jus keep mention that there will be someone gonna celebrate with me, she said they don't want to disturb me and stuff like that. But in fact, there is no one at that moment. 

Until around noon, i text my tuition kaki and Gin as well ask if they can meet up for dinner or something. Both Eve and Gin act perfectly one saying that she got no transport to pick me up, Gin said that YY is still at goldcost, Poh Yee is not at KL, Teacher has to fetch student.. Give me all sort of excuses and i just called it off. But i didnt expect like a party or something, just thought of meeting them since we didn't met for a long time and i thought they sort of can't reject me cause i use birthday as a reason. But.. they are pretty smart because they gave really reasonable reason that really make sense. So i didn't doubt anything from them.

I was then quite down and tired as well because i didn't sleep well last night and woke up super early. Until evening i called my other friends said to meet up at night to have some drinks and before they decide where to go i called off the plan again because i just dont felt like going anywhere anymore because i am sleepy and tired at that moment.

Somehow around 8 something like that i called one of my friend again said i wanted to had some Korean cuisine and he said Yes. So he was rushing from somewhere else all the way to Pavilion to pick me up thou he just had dinner. Then, we went to Nak Won at Korean Village at Ampang. I've been craving it ever since.. last few months i guess. 

While we enjoying the delicious meal, out of sudden he receive a called that he pretend its his cousin but its actually gin calling him to bring me back earlier. So end up he telling me that his cousin is coming to his house so he has to go back earlier. Also, my sis kept text me as well ask me to pick her up while she can actually just walk back from tuition center to my uncle house. 

And stuff and stuff.. There we are at tuition center.

I called my sis to come down but she said teacher has something to talk to me so i go up.. And ta daaa... All of them are there!! This is really surprise!! 

We didn't take much picture because it's been a while since we last met and we were so busy to update each other. But this is why i want to meet up them on my birthday, not for any exclusive party, luxury wine.. Just wast to talk with them because normal days we will be busy on our own stuff. Hardly to meet up nowadays when we grow up. I even forgot to take pic of the cake but luckily Eve already took some picture of it before i came. So i steal this from her Insta.. =)

Right  after i cut the cake, Gin hold my hand and bring me go downstairs.. Basically is pull.. Haha.. I am kind a shock because i don't think so there is any other surprise she can give but guess what....

Evangelina Bong is Here!!! 

This is so unexpected because there is no connection at all between her and my tuition gang. Until now i have no idea is who contact who to give me this surprise but i just want to said Thank you so much! Again, its not about beautiful cake or what so ever, having them to shown up that night is just more than enough. I feel really really blessed. 

I am sorry i have to use something to cover up my face here because i look really terrible i don't know why. Anyway, if u are reading this, thanks for dropping by once again! 

Following up is with family. My mum got me this beautiful cake. Thanks mum!!  

My aunt has prepared some red eggs and pudding specially for me! It is well decorated and taste really good as well! Thank you!!

Melbourne Day 1

Finally I am doing this!! I've been trying so hard to remember every single thing and now its a release because i can throw all the memory here. Apologize in advance that i took so long, things getting really busy lately.. 

We depart from KL at 23 May 2230. We took AirAsia Flight because its not only cheap but it offer the best timing. What i meant by best timing was, we gonna arrive at Melbourne in the morning approximately 0800 and we suppose to come back at 28 May but because there is a flight back to KL at 29 May  1230 in midnight so we can enjoy one more day in Melbourne.

Lets start up with the MUST HAVE picture when you go travel. We are lucky enough that thou we didn't select the sits while booking the air ticket but we were arranged to sit together and its besides the window!! Another tips here, if you are going somewhere in 3 person, you don't really need to book the sits because the sits is usually 3 in a row right.. But of course you can book because there is always exception. So select the sits itself you need to pay extra RM 40 for each person.

Its a perfect time for reading isn't it? "Rich Dad Poor Dad" recommended by a senior long time ago.  

Meanwhile, we also had the pre-ordered airline meal where we order while booking the air ticket. My mum jwas so worried that we got starving. But in fact, we just had something right before we depart and my flight was 1030 pm and we have to eat again at around 1230 or 1 am. But its a good try anyway. So we ordered Chicken Lasagna (me), Chicken Teriyaki (sis) & Chicken Rice (mum). All sounds so heavy huh. So if you are going for a trip with Air Asia and wondering what to order, i highly recommend you to try out their Chicken Lasagna! Its really good if you like cheesy stuff. Chicken Rice was unexpectedly taste good as well thou it looks kinda awful. Chicken Teriyaki not so good but i guess its most healthy among all. 

Following is what i said earlier, the must have pic!! 

We depart at night so we couldn't see anything. BUT, we do see the MOON and STARS.. which is really breathtaking.. Its like so close to you.. Thou i didn't have any pro gadget to capture it down but.. i guess i'll gonna remember that for life.. So this is the sun rise pic!

Ladies and Gentleman, here i present to you.. Melbourne!

This is what i first saw when i step out from the airport. 

So we actually took the.. not sure how its suppose to be called but i think its something like Ground tour or Land tour from Mayflower. The difference between Ground tour and Tour Guide or Group travel package is you do not have a Tour Guide to guide you from the airport itself to the pick up bus and so on. Taking ground tour like us you have to book your air ticket by your own, and also find the pick up people on your own. But it is relatively cheaper and more flexible where you do not have to follow their specific date, you can go whenever its suits your schedule. Because usually if you are taking those group travel package, they'll state a specific date so you must follow their schedule. Overall we took this has save up RM 10,000 compare to the Group travel package. And you can actually learn a lot more things compare to the Group one because you need to be more independent and do more research. Which i think its totally worth it for 10k. 

Had a little trouble of finding the pick up bus but there is a very sweet woman to help us. And this is the first pic in the bus with some brochure. Typical tourist! 

So Day 1 is actually free and easy. After they pick you up from airport to hotel, you have one whole day to explore the city. But its all on you own. At first you might think its sort of scary or insecure because you are first day there and you don't know where to go how to go. But reason why they set free and easy for the first day is because you do not have to rush from airport to hotel then straight away start the tour, sometimes your flight might be delay or something happen.. who knows right? So it was actually fine for them to do so. 

When you reach the hotel you can chill for a while first after long hours of flight. But normally you won't do that for too long because you will definitely feel so excited to look around the city!

After so long, i still feel so excited to blog about this. Lets begin! 

First day first step out of hotel, we already met a very nice old ladies to help us took this photos. Who said they are racist to Chinese? Such a beautiful beginning. Anyway this is just right outside of the hotel that i stay.

This is what i see every day  just right after I walk down the street from the pic above. Melbourne is really impressive because it is really really beautiful in every single corner. 

 Yes no doubt! You'll see this on the street! When my friend browse through my phone photos shes like: YOU SEE THIS IN JUST NORMAL STREET? 

 You'll see a lots of street name picture along because it proved that we walked!! 

So beautiful until i feel like crying.. Its so touched that how a city can be so insanely beautiful..T.T

So through the ground tour in Mayflower, there is a list of hotel that you can choose. They have hotel from 3 star up to five star, again its all depends on your own budget. Thats why choosing ground tour can really save up a lot! Besides budgeting, you also want to choose a hotel which has the best location. So after i've done the research, The Victoria All Season Hotel is the best! Its located in Little Collins Streets, its so near to the Myer and David Jones(shopping mall), and a lots of cafe and because its in the CBD is it so close to just walk to anywhere you want and yet the price is reasonable.

Then, we head to Federation Square according to the staff in airport she said is a must for tourist to visit because you can get all sort of information you need here. But actually we just simply walk and here we are!

I actually did a list of some of the must go places in Melbourne before we went, church is in the list but unfortunately we didn't go in to the church because we have too much places to go and my mum doesn't want to go in. Well.. lets left it until the next time with someone who knows how to appreciate the same thing with you. 

 I snap the picture of this shop because it was so pretty and the cup cakes are so cute but when i editing the picture for this blog only i realize that the worker inside are looking at the camera. Kind a scary huh. Haha..

With my beautiful mum, thou we have fight sometimes but thank you so much for bringing us here.

Next stop is Victoria Market! One of the must go places as well, its been recommended from a lot of friends of my mum. I don't know why but still is a nice place to visit because you can buy a lot of fresh local fruits with crazily cheap price. My mum is a huge fans of grapes so of course we gonna buy tons of them back to hotel. 

Victoria Market is actually very far from where we stay but we still manage to walk there because walking in Melbourne city is so enjoyable, not only because of the cleanness of the city but also the chilling weather. Well, fruit and vegetables is not the only things that you can get it here, but also some cloths and stuff. But when we reach there they are about to close so we didnt get to look around the whole market. So, here is some important things you need to know which they are close on Monday & Wednesday. Meanwhile,   take down their operating time as well because its different everyday and you don't want to disappoint yourself.  

 Credits to the lovely couple to make this picture looks so lovely! Well.. they are actually just random people there but it just look so beautiful that makes me want to capture it down. And hopefully one day i'll be doing the same thing at the same place. haha.. Dreaming.. 

Another thing about Victoria Market you need to compare the prices between different stores and it is worth to go because you can buy tons of really fresh fruit as a meal. Because food in Melbourne is quite expensive if you convert it into Ringgit Malaysia. It might sounds kind a pity to do that but i can tell you its NOT AT ALL! Especially their Grapes and Apple taste so much better than what you get in Malaysia. I am not a big fans of Grape and i need the peel off the Apple skin whenever i eat but a big No in Australia because everything is so FRESH!!! All of them taste really really good. *thumbs up*

And yea.. They do sell their oranges per box! Haha.. Interesting.. 

 Again.. Their apple is really really good! Highly recommend you to try it out!

All of our legs are burning, so we just sat down out of the market to chill a while like the local people. Please excuse me to cover up my ugly expression. haha.. 

It was around evening that time, so what we do at night was just shopping. Do take note that the mall over there do closed at 7pm some day. So check out their operating time before you heading to the mall. 

This was taken during shopping at shops around Myer. I'll share more about shopping in the coming post.

I guess we thats it for Day 1 in Melbourne. What is missing from the photo is I actually went to Victoria University and the rest was just walk around the city. Thank you so much if you are reading from the beginning until the end and i hope you do enjoy reading it. Why it took me so long for this is because i actually have 400 plus of photos from iPhone, iPad mini, camera and my mum Note II for just Day 1. It took some effort to edit, pick, filter and stuff.. Well.. i hope you guys like it and get some information or idea about travel to Melbourne.
