Adult Transmutation

I'm officially turning 21 in a few months times later and i guess today I'll share about some stories about stepping on adult-to-be life. My mum has once said our viewpoint and mentality will be changing a lot every year. I agreed and aspect gradual changes, but surprisingly changes happened in just a short amount of time and more than what i've aspect.

In general, we've been taught clearly what's right or wrong during the earlier stage. So, black and white are pretty clear in the world we exist. But as you grow older, "the grey" begin to enter. You'll be facing a lot of situation where there is no right or wrong. All sort of "grey zone" problem are the most  annoying one because either one will lead you to a totally different path and yet there is no absolute in any of the options.

Also, i've often heard people said its harder to get a relationship as you grow older. From what i've observed, i guess one of the reason is because as we grow older, we are getting to know ourself better at the same time. Not necessary referring to higher demand, but the more we know what exactly suitable for us, it creates more obstacle at the same time.

Imagine people as a semicircular. While we're young, we're semicircular with smoother surface which we can easily find the other half as long as it achieve certain conditions. But as we grow older, problems and life we're dealing with everyday tends to creates a rough surface. The rough surface isn't indicating negative stuff, but a clearer vision about what suit us the best in the long run. Hence, this is where people find it challenging to match with the other semicircular to form a perfect circle.

Everyone wish to stay young forever but growing elder is something we can't avoid. Even if you do intend to avoid doing things or acting like an adult, some responsibilities will come to you naturally and you'll have to learn to bear the burden. Well, if you're fortune enough, you can avoid facing that later but i'm pretty sure thats not gonna be forever.

Anyway, it isn't all bad growing as an adult. You will be offering more chances to take in charge of your own life. When we're younger, we used to think the schools is rights, our parent is rights but in truth, you don't live for them, you live for who you are. So, do not be afraid thou its not a easy journey ahead. Embrace yourself, stay focus, and becoming a better person than who you are yesterday. Do whatever makes you happy and getaway from all the negative stuff and people. Everything will eventually falling in to the right place.

I hope it does inspire you a little.

Good Luck everyone!

Dream Vs Real life : The Office.

I've always envy some of my friends who can do internships or temporary job that related to the field they studied. Reason is i never ever have a break thats long enough to do so, cause all we have are short sem break. But things has got real now, i finally got what i want - working in an office. Sounds lame but.. yea.. Of course, it doesn't turn out as fancy as i imagine but i guess its still satisfactory.

The office environment is not that pretty as we always saw in the movie. "I'll try to put in more imagination to beautify the actual look" But everything else are doing fine especially the people. I've always read blogs saying that people they've met in the office are so friend while doing internships and i never believe that its gonna be 100% true because sometimes its just hard to avoid haters in life. But it turns out people there are really nice. What could you ask for more than working with a bunch of affectionate colleague?

Anyway, its just my first day so.. i might happened to be too enthusiastic but i'm definately looking forward to join this company in the following months. I believe things will only getting more and more interesting because everyday there will be different scenario thou tasks are probably gonna be more or less the same. I guess.

Lots of my friend might probably wondering where I've been, so yea this is what I've been up to lately. Honestly, feel so good to have something to focus in life again. The previous sem are so stressful that both my body and mind are used to being hasty, and guilt are doubled when things go slow and slack.

Too lazy to find one that's close to what i've always thought of but if your office environment happene to be like this, you should appreciate. I'm not complaining about mine, its just out of what i've expect. Just to clarified.

Time for bed. Just bear in mind that each job will have things for you to learn.

Tragedies

Haven't been update my blog as i promised due to i were busy with interview in the past week, and just to keep my blog more organised i always wanted to post the previous post part 2 first before other matters that i would love to share. But things that happened in the past few days, my emotion was irrepressible.

Since the tragedy happened, instead of watching any Korean drama or movies, i kept looking at several news site for any new updates of the South Korea ferry accident. I didn't cry for any drama lately as i was easily to get touched before, but watching all these news are truly heartbroken and i just couldn't control my emotion even though non of my family or friends are involved.

One of the reason that its so depressing is due to most of the passengers on board are high school students. I can't imagine how much pain their family are bearing and i couldn't imagine how much people that has forced to be involved in this tragedy. The first moment i read the news, besides hoping everyone could be safe, i also wish for no more people should be sacrifice in this case. But just a day later, the school vice principle has commit suicide.

I might react a little over emotional towards all this news but honestly, try to think about what would you do if you're the vice principle. Family members are all blaming over him and of course the tremendous guilty of himself seems like placing him in a world without oxygen. Death might not be the best solution, but the pressure of being alive are so hard to evade. His first intention was just trying to enhance student learning experiences, but ends up being too guilty of being alive.

Same goes to MH370. Families are all still struggling with the missing airplane.

After all these accidents, people started to realise how important to cherish every moment with your loves one and appreciate every single things you have regardless of good or bad. As for me, i wonder how could i help in these kind of tragedy besides writing blogs or prays. I really do wish to help, even if its just the most elementary one.

People like us living a serene life will never understand how much pain it involved. Still complaining for your jobs? Suffering from breakups? Come on.. Get a life! You have no clue how minor it is comparing to something that against the universe.

Sincerely pray for all the people involved in both the tragedies can get a peace of mind as soon as possible and stay strong for the future.

Penang road trip 2014 ~ Day 1

I've only been to Penang since i was just a kid, so you can said that i've many things to explore about the city. As i didnt followed my family back to Taiping for Ching Ming festival in the past few years, because it clashed with my finals, i've been listening all sort of story about how fun and how nice is the food in Penang. After all the restless exams and assignments, its definitely a good time to get away from KL and i always love road trip like this because the view is amazing.

After all, one of my impression towards Penang was there was a lots of temple and church and catholic. There are all nearby each other in just two steps of walking distance. So of course we begin with temple as well, but it was a impromptu one. While following the road sign i asked: is there snake in snake temple, and my mum said no. But it turns out, YES! Which was really scary.

My mum was reading a board thingy that wrote be careful with the snakes on the hanger because it was real. While we were reading it, no one sees any snake because they doesn't move. And after finish reading the first sentence, i run out from the temple. Who knows there are actually on the trees as well. For me, it was really scary. No offence.
Afterwards, we go to have lunch at a very famous cendol stores. I've seen many of my friends been there and apparently a lots of bloggers or TV programs have talk about it. But honestly, though cendol is one of my favourite dessert, but i really don't find it that special. Its nice, but i won't crave for it. In fact, there are a few cendol stores that i know are actually better than that in KL.
There are actually another booth just opposite this stores, but because everyone was lining up for this so we only tried this. But according to my cousin in Taiping, the other booth actually has many years of history already and their cendol turns out not bad too. So if you happen to be there, you should try both.   I wonder why i don't. But one good thing about this is its not too sweet. And.. thats it.
After that, my cousin brought us to Chew Jeti which is kind a like a small housing area where all the house are build on top of the sea, its like a.. small village i suppose? Nothing much to explore there but the way the house was build and arrange are kind a ancient. Its hard to see this kind of atmosphere in other places.
Along the jeti they sell a lots of those Korean Cap, like those Kang Gary one and Song Ji Jyo one for instances and is crazily cheap. My sis bought one online cost her about RM30 plus and there only RM15. Of course they sell other souvenir too, but i am just being honest here, don't hold high aspect that you're gonna see something very fancy or nice. Its just a simple jeti. But i guess i did like it, because you can see the lifestyle over there, the people, which was kind a interesting.
As i'm a huge lover to whatever sea or beach side, so please excuse some photos. Generation nowadays, hahaha... i don't need to explain much.
We then go to check in at Copthorne Orchid Hotel Penang, which my mum booked online earlier. It was about RM150 plus per night. My mum has did some research on different hotel and she found this was the cheapest. Overall everything was satisfactory i suppose. Both the room and bathroom was quite spacious. But of course don't compare to those 5 stars one. As most of our time gonna be at outside, so we did not demand much for the hotel.
One of the reason my mum has chosen this hotel because it has a private beach, but it was a very small one. And the location was sort of in the middle i guess, because hard rock hotel are very deep inside (not sure towards left or right of Penang) so it would be not convenient to go to the city centre.
Then we go and meet my uncle which he is lost in somewhere, and we go for dinner at the Northam beach cafe. I've took the pictures of food but there are nothing much to share because nothing there i find is really nice and nothing there i would like to recommend you all. Also, the drinks there was very expensive, one large watermelon juice cost RM10 and small one was RM4 which almost the same price with some nice cafe over here in KL. The food there was pretty expensive as well for such hawker centre. The average price over there are almost the same as KL. Most importantly, nothing we order is like really really nice. I guess a lot of people go there because it was kind a like a tourist spot? plus there are a beach near the table. But you could't see anything at night.
Because we're not satisfied with the food over there, we drove around and look for something else. We found this "fried carrot cake" or "cha quay kag" (not sure what it actually called in english) at the road side beside one school which i showed in the pictures below. Its so much nicer than everything we've ordered just now, but unfortunately they left no more, and my mum keep ask them to just made one. So what we got are mostly bean sprout. lol.. but it still taste nice.
Afterwards, my uncle was still very hungry i guess, we tried out things at this old green house coffee shop. It was actually recommended by a street pedlar earlier at the cendol place. He recommended us to try the "bay zhan chicken". But we're too full to try that so we order "Lo mee" and "Ha mee" which both are Penang famous local food. But again, it disappoint me. Its not nice at all. I'm sorry Penang.
That pretty much wrap day 1. Thou nothing i find it very special but at least i get to spend some quality time with my families after so long. Anyway, Penang is so HOT!!! and because its a island surrounded by sea, its was so humid and the wind actually make your body sticky and salty. LOL..
Pictures and shower time. Good bye!!
Stay tuned for Day 2!

Xiao Qian 21st Birthday!

Annyeonghaseyo everyone! Didn't post anything in the past couple days as i was away to Penang and Taiping. So.. things that i wanted to share has doubled up again... Should have bring my laptop with me. But.. its okay! Lets get started!

So the day before i went to Penang and Taiping, it was my very very best friend Xiao Qian's 21st birthday!! Yay!!!!!!

She has literally prepared the party from inviting people and decoration, preparations of foods and all those stuff for one whole month! At the beginning i did not gave her much help as i was still busy on studies, but i am very glad that i did manage to help her out on the actual party.

Once again from this party, i realise that organising birthday party is such a hectic work and it shows the generosity of the organiser because she provides everyone a chance to meet up, talk, and update about each other. So thank you Qian Qian!

This was prepared by me and Jus!! Believe or not we including the uni gang has discussed for so long on how to place the candle on the cake.. hahaa..
May your wishes come true!
Me and Jus arrived pretty early that day, we thought we were gonna be the first but the "Klang Gang" arrived even earlier than. The funny thing was, the birthday girl herself were only about to get shower while we arrived. In addition, she didn't even iron the cloths and made up her mind which to wear. So me and Jus were helping her out on her make up and hair and everything to make her at least look more presentable.
Fixing her hair.
Miss her so much!!!!!!! Funny thing was while i am writing this, i visited her blog, and the last post was about me. Aww..  not the first time read, but still touched!
So glad that i bought a eye shadow pallet to her during Christmas, if not i really have no idea what make up to use to enhance her look. Well as usual girl takes time to dressing up and everyone has successively arrive so Qian's family was keep on asking hasten her to entertain the guests. But yet of course she can't get out until she has finished up everything, so this is where her temper rise dramatically. But lucky enough me and Jus were there so we were able to calm her down.

Sweet  Moments
Zhi Xiang if you ever reading this, XQ was so anxious asking us where is the pic of you and her after the party as she can't find we post in FB! haha.. Such a sweet couple though XQ always sort of scold him in front of us.
Xiao Qian was so busy to served her friends and family so she doesn't has much time to talk much with us. But that was absolutely normal. So us the uni gang we were just normal chit chatting, but they've raise a very interesting question regarding on why am i wanted to study abroad, what value or things that i am seeking at the end of the day. They've analysed lots of view and aspect to me which was really appreciated. I guess this kind of conversation rarely happened with some kind of people, because only "real true friend" will care about all the little things.

Unfortunately, i've always thought i could give people a firm and complete answer whenever they ask me this kind of question, but as the truth involved some personal reasons, and its kind a complicated which i don't know how to sort everything up. There was so much story involve and its hard to simplified everything as one whole story to tell, so.. i believe i did not gave them a satisfactory answer at the end.

But i know what i want at this moment, and i guess we'll only find out the answer once we has been through it because i've discussed with many people from both with and without experience and all of them gave different answers. I believe the ultimate right or wrong is still depends on how you view the matter, there are no absolute in between.

The very lovely Uni Gang!
Love this group picture of us sooooo much!! Thou is very blur..
This party may not be as grand as others has done but definitely the most heartwarming one! We're gonna turn 21 one after another, which means that we gonna be more and more busy, so hopefully we can still stay this close in the future. Really glad that I've a gang of friends who can always share those deep thoughts instead of those really cliche one.  Love you all!!!

 Happy 21st KQQ!!

The Research journey

Before we begin, i wanted to thanks all of you who have read my previous post for sort of like catch up with what i did while "missing" in the previous months. I didnt know there are like number of you who are really care. So.. thank you so much!

Right, so today i'm gonna talk about the Business Research which is probably one of the biggest project i have ever done in my study. Surprisingly there are a few colleges' courses who doesn't have the Final Year Project, i suggest you to check out if there's other modules to replace it, because in the future if you tends to pursue Degree or Phd, you'll need to conduct research and you'll need both skills and knowledge from research.

In this stage, I am only doing a research proposal which if in the future my supervisor approve, i can carry on with i've done instead of starting all over again. So, what so inspiring and important about this modules is it let me visualise what i've learn and put them altogether into practice.

A lots of students especially those who're in business management studies do not know why they should learn those theory and where should they apply. Its hard for student to visualise as it seems kind a abstract and theory based. Plenty of people saying there is nothing to learn in business studies, because all u need in conducting business is practical skills instead of theory stuff.. Well.. i used to have these kind of thought, where i think some of the thing that i learn are really common sense, but research let me know that everything i've learn are applicable in real life or business corporate world.

For instances, how government decide how much they should tax for income tax rate or how to decide the range of inflation rate, product pricing and what so ever. Its all through research. This is where i see a social science students can actually contribute their knowledge back to the community and facilitate the society just as how a professional degree could do. Lots of people only see how doctor or lawyer could help the society, but actually social science contribute the major part to the economic environment. And a country couldn't run smoothly without them.

The first class of Dr. Ben he mentioned that research is a systematic process and its a very lonely journey. I only know what all these meant towards the end of the modules. Research in degree level, you're suppose to came out with a new idea based on what other's have done but the process require you to follow certain guidelines - systematic process. Everything is steps by steps and you can't miss any of them. Lonely journey referring where you have to think of a new words, new sentences, new way to describe an existing terms on your own. The process of finding related journals, read though them, analyse them are all on your own. In order to produce good outcome, you need to put in a lots of efforts, again, on your own.

What makes this modules fascinating is it let me know where and how i can apply my knowledge in such a way that could create a huge impact to society. Which i never know that business studies could be so powerful. And of course because i met Dr.Ben, he has taught me so much and giving me a lots of guidance that definitely creates a life time value.

To correspond with his effort as well as my self-interest, i work really hard though is just proposal stage. It is very lucky to meet such lecture because he taught us many things that doesn't exist in the text books and he just make such boring modules become so meaningful and applicable. I never consider to further any study after degree level because business is just so general in some aspect, but now i see why people further their studies, and it does create a different between this two levels.

So this conclude one of the reason where why i am so busy in the past. I hope what i've shared could help you to capture a clearer picture in your study or just provide you a general view on research.

Thank you so much for reading!
